Children's Ministries Overview
Join us as your children learn what it means to weave their faith into everyday life!
Sunday Morning
Sunday mornings at Praise Pointe are centered on children deepening and expressing their faith. Children experience worship with parents, worship with peers in age-appropriate workshops, and small-group learning. Small-group classes include a story, games, craft and other activities designed to reinforce a central theme for the morning. Praise Pointe is committed to providing a place for all children to grow and flourish in their faith regardless of their age or learning level.
- 9:30 a.m. - 10 a.m. - Worship Workshops
- 10:10 a.m. - 11 a.m. - Small-Group Classes
- 11:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. - Worship Workshops
Check-In Procedure
Please check your child in at the computer kiosk when you arrive for the morning. You will recieve a computer-generated receipt that will be required in order to pick-up your child.
Once checked in, those attending the 9:00 service should procede with their family to worship. During the service, a guide will lead children to the Worship Workshops. If he or she is staying for the small-group hour, the guide will direct your child to their classes. If you are not staying for the small group hour, you may pick up your child from the hall monitors in the Praise Pointe wing.
Children attending the small-group classes and 11:15 service must be picked up after the small-group hour ends and before the service begins.
Note: If you have lost your receipt, a photo ID will be required to collect your child. We must maintain the highest standard in our safety procedures and exceptions will not be made. If you have any questions, please contact Peggy Puzzello at (260) 485-9681 ext. 11 or ppuzzello@stjoemin.com.
Worship Workshops
Approximately 25 minutes into the worship service, children are given an opportunity to continue worshipping in the Praise Pointe wing. A diverse range of activities are provided that will encourage children to find their gifts and use those gifts to worship God. Some of the activities offered include singing, playing instruments, drama, physical activities, dance, bible basics, crafts, prayer and storytelling. Offerings will change and grow as the children learn more and express their own interests to the staff.
Wonderful Wednesdays
Every Wednesday, families of all ages are invited to share in a meal, worship and study opportunities.
- 5:30 p.m. - Dinner and fellowship in the gym
- 6:30 p.m. - Prayer and Praise in the Worship Center
- 7:00 p.m. - New Testament Bible Study in the Worship Center
Children and youth in grades 1-12 will be studying the New Testament together on Wednesday evenings in the Worship Center from 7-8 p.m. Each week's lesson will feature a Bible passage, memory verse and overall theme. Lessons will be presented in a variety of ways, much like a mini VBS with activities, story time, crafts and more. Older students will be given opportunities to assist the younger students through leadership, prayer and one-on-one interaction.
Childcare for Church Events
Saint Joseph provides comprehensive childcare for church sponsored events. Our professional staff are available during all worship services, Bible studies, meetings and practice times. We value your participation in our ministries, therefore there is never a charge for these services. If you are interested in using childcare for your children, contact Christi Murray at (260) 485-9681 or cmurray@stjoemin.com.
