Local Service
Camp Lakewood Work Team
Camp Lakewood is the Methodist camp located just west of Ashley IN, for grade school age youth. The heat of the summer has passed, and we are looking for persons willing to help with the camp maintenance. All that is needed is a heart to serve, don't worry about your skills. There are benefits to be gained, good fellowship with other volunteers, free lunch, and the joy of serving the Lord. For questions contact Bob Scott, 615-2053 or Gary Peterson 437-1310.
NeighborLink
Saint Joseph partners with NeighborLink Fort Wayne in a variety of ways. Individuals and small groups within the church assist the ministries of NeighborLink on a regular basis and the Saint Joseph Day of Caring coordinates a number of projects with NeighborLink. For information on how you might work with NeighborLink Fort Wayne check out their web site at http://www.neighborlinkfortwayne.org.
Habitat for Humanity
Saint Joseph has partnered with the Fort Wayne Chapter of Habitat for Humanity for many years. As a church we have underwritten the cost of several homes and regular encourage volunteers to participate both locally and internationally. Please check out this link http://www.fortwaynehabitat.org for more information on how you can support this worthwhile ministry.
Matthew 25 Clinic
One of the ministries that Saint Joseph supports in the Fort Wayne community is Matthew 25. This ministry provides a health clinic for people who need it the most and have the fewest resources to pay for those services. Please check out their web site http://matthew25online.org/about.html for more information.
Fort Wayne Associated Churches Food Bank
The Associated Churches Food Bank is an "emergency food bank", providing a five-day supply of food to prepare balanced and nutritious meals. By partnering with Saint Joesph and more than 25 other local churches, they have served over 1,300,000 meals since 1979. For more information, click here.
Giving Gardens
Saint Joseph uses the land across the parking lot from the church to grow fresh produce for families in our surrounding neighborhood and the Food Bank. Here's what you can do:
- April 30th – help clean and prep garden beds
- May 14th – help plant gardens
Consider helping maintain the gardens, picking the produce and distributing to our neighbors. Sign up at the Garden Table outside the Sanctuary in April to donate items, money or time. Pray for tending the garden, reaching people in need and distributing our bounty. For more information, contact Leigh Ann Brooks at 438-4947 or brooks729@comcast.net.
