Women's Ministries

2007 Cookie Walk
Thank you to everyone who baked and donated cookies for last year’s Cookie Walk. 1255 dozen cookies were baked. It was a beautiful sight to see, the tables filled with a wide selection of delicious cookies and candy.

From the sale we will be able to more then meet Women’s Ministries needs for the year, after we donate 10% to the church and 10% to a local charity. These funds support the Heart-to-Heart program, Compassion Ministry, Bible Studies, Prayer Ministry, Retreats and scholarships to many programs.

Through the generosity of the congregation we were able to reach a goal this year of providing cookies to the community. Around 300 dozen cookies were donated to The Rescue Mission, Saint Mary’s Soup Kitchen, Charis House, Ronald McDonald House and several nursing homes. What a special treat for so many.

Bible Study
The Thursday morning Bible study recently finished a study of Daniel and will begin studying Revelation as soon as the new study guides arrive. Please contact the church for more information. This group meets from 9-11am every Thursday morning in room F13. We are eager to welcome new women at any time.

Events Ministry

Events ministry sponsors various one day events throughout the year in addition to the Friday Scrapbook Night which meets the second Friday of the month at the church from 7pm-midnight in room F19/21. Bring your own supplies, snacks and drinks are provided at no charge... so bring your friends! Watch here for more information as the year progresses.

Heart to Heart 2008 Mentoring Program

Are you feeling a need for encouragement, for developing a new friendship or for sharing with another Christian woman? If so, then Heart to Heart is designed just for you!!!

Heart to Heart is a friendship building ministry, which matches the interests and life experiences of an older woman and a younger woman in a partnership of support, encouragement, spirituality and fun.

This one-on-one women’s mentoring program is developed from the command in Titus 2:3-4, “Older women, likewise, are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips, nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, that the work of God may not be dishonored.”

We each have a unique “heartprint” that can touch another, so make 2008 your year to gather and leave heartprints of compassion, understanding and love. We are looking forward to a great year!!!!!

Compassion
Compassion is the heart's response to a person's need, combined with a helping hand that offers mercy and grace. Jesus had compassion on the heavy-laden (Matthew 11:28-30), the diseased (Matthew 14:14), and the hungry (Mark 8:2). He wants to express that compassion to others through us.

Activities of the compassion team include providing a meal for the family of a newborn, organizing Random Acts of Kindness Week, providing help for those in need in our community such as a family with newborn triplets or a widow needing help around the house. We also plan game night activities for the women at Charis House and prepare a meal for the church staff in October for staff appreciation week. We are also reaching across the world by helping Haitian women with the final assembly of greeting cards they embroider and sell to help support their families.

We are always looking for ways we can minister to the needs of women in our church and community. Compassion is love in action. Come join us and see how God will work in your heart as you touch the hearts of those you serve.
