Prayer & Care at St. Joe is a ministry of presence, intercession, and encouragement that quietly strengthens our church's life. Across campuses, we create on-ramps for people to both receive prayer and participate in caring for others.
Volunteers gather for monthly Card Writing to send notes of encouragement and support to those who are homebound, grieving, ill, or celebrating milestones. Prayer Groups meet regularly at both the Bethany and Center Campuses, including a Thursday morning women’s gathering for Scripture, intercession, and spiritual support.
Additional touch points include weekly chaplain hours, community prayer events like the National Day of Prayer, and a monthly Midweek Worship service at the JRL Y that offers space for prayer and connection outside Sunday mornings that anyone from any campus can participate in and support. Prayer & Care also leads worship at Heritage Pointe, bringing fellowship and spiritual encouragement to residents who are unable to attend church in person.
In addition to these rhythms, anyone can request prayer at any time by texting the keyword PRAYER to 260-377-3111, ensuring needs are shared quickly with our Prayer & Care team.
Through cards, visits, chaplaincy, small gatherings, and worship, Prayer & Care helps ensure no one walks alone and that our community remains spiritually supported throughout the week.
